I am a journalism student. Though writing is my passion, I find it hard to focus on a specific topic. Are there any ways to improve my writing attitude before its too late for me to change and improve whatever skills I have right now? I just bothered me. My professor is a good writer (as i may say) and i feel like being belittled whenever I get back my paper with many red marks(errors...)

Note those errors and work on them, is the best way. Journalism is a difficult task. You have to know how to hit home the subject without waffling. In other words, you have to keep cutting it down, until it holds it's interest and makes an impact.
If you have a good imagination, or a good eye for detail, but can keep it brief and punchy, you'll do well. Practice, practice, practice. You'll do fine with time.

That's definately one thing that is the hardest for myself as I writer, hearing the negative feedback. Though I try to tell myself and others that it's good to get it so I can grow as a writer, the truth is sometimes it can hurt so much that it almost puts me off writing, at least for a while.
But in the end I do realize that it is helping my writing, if not my ego, and that one day, maybe I'll be in a position that I'll be one of the great writers. Okay, that might be wishing a little much, but still... it's what keeps me going some days.
All I can tell you, is that you should find something that you like to write about, and stick to it, because if you are truly passionate about a subject, it can really help your writing. If you are bored with a topic, find something else that interests you to write about, or write about something you yourself are trying to learn about.
Writing from experiance is also good, cause it can add a spin to the piece that is unique to you. How did you experiance the event? How did it make you feel? What did you want to do about it? I'm sure you've heard this all before, but hopefully something in there can help you :)

It will not be difficult to be a writer. But if you need to be a good writer you must have the interest, then must have ability in selection of topics and good talent.
The talent requires ability in using language in such a way that common people can read, using of sentences and phrases that can keep the readers interest.

No, I don't think it's hard to be a writer. You just need to practise writing all the time that's all. Okay, not all the time, but make sure it's frequent, so your brain doesn't go stale and forget your vocabulary. At least that's what happened to me. There was a period when I didn't write for a month or two, and when I wanted to write, I was, like, stuck. I did not know how to start writing but I just went ahead and scribbled out whatever was in my head. Then, everything flowed out easily!
To be a better writer, one has to read a lot. You have to read a variety of books, magazines, newspapers, etc. You need to be exposed to a wide range of different kinds of writing and then you can start developing your own style of writing. Different writers have different styles of writing. Not all writers may appeal to you and your writing may not appeal to everyone. But, make sure your writing is you. Your own unique style. You. That's very important.
Take note of your professor's advice and correct the ones you got wrong. Learn from mistakes. These are the basic steps of becoming a good writer. Keep on writing. If you have the passion and determination for what you are doing, then thou shall not worry! Work hard and smart. Good luck!
