Yes basically I agree with morningangel.
There are two reason why you have to lose things before get something.
First, It's like a test, would you lose something to get another thing that MIGHT be bigger or better than the thing you lose. Some people like staying in comfort zone. Comfort zone is a situation which you feel enough for you, everything is easy and o your side. But say, there are a lot of more comfort zone out there. For an example, you like your economical condition now, you are rich, and you can get everything you want. But there are another comfort zone, where you can do adventures or dealing bigger business. But they all demands your money that you have now. Would you lose your money now to get the bigger deal that MIGHT you get ?
Second,It's gonna be a memorial for you for your achievement. For example, there's a young boy who lived very poor, he did not have anything but his bike. One day he decided to sell his bike, and start a very very small business, selling traditional cakes by foot. And what happen now ? He became a real estate tycoon in Indonesia. I'm sure he'll be very proud to tell that he lose his bike, and because of that he can be as he is now. What happened if he don't wanna lose his bike ?

People sometimes forget the importance of a person or a thing in their lives that losing them is a way to remind the person or the thing's value. It is such a sad thing to happen but it does happen most of the time.
