how can i turn off the laptop speakers and still hear through the headphones out

i have tried to mute laptop speakers in order to listen to just laptop headphones socket but if i mute speakers i also mute headphones !!! please suggest how i can listen on headphones but mute speakers

You'll just insert the jack of the headphones and the speaker of the laptop will automatically shut up. You don't have to mute it. Hope it'll help.

When you plug in your headphones it should automatically shut off your speakers. Just plug in your headphones and it should be good.
If plugging in the headphones doesn't shut off the laptop speakers, then there is something wrong with your laptop and you should have it fixed.
