i'ved been used both processors in all my PCs.
My first PC is operated by AMD processor, and find it reliable too. But I am no longer using that PC anymore. I donated it already.
Now i am currently using PC with the latest Intel processor. I found it excellent especially in multi-tasking - working on various applications on the same time by just simply jumping from one program to another. I never got encountered problems of hang or making waiting for so long due to low memory low or processor processing delay.
in your experiences, which processor is preferable? i would love to hear comments and opinions from your views.

ive had a intel processor before and wasn't very happy with it so i upgraded to a athlon xp and found that it was much faster, now i have a AMD X2 which i am very happy with but you know technology marches on and now intel has taken the lead with there core2duo line, i would upgrade to them but since the price wouldnt exceed the performance of what i have now i'll most likely wait for AMDs new quad cores coming out some time in the near future

well i think AMD 64 bit is better as compared to intel ! reports says that AMD is very good in graphics speed and gaming matters ! even i am using both of the product but i will vote for AMD

yes, you're definitely right! Each of them have both superiority advantages which the other one don't have. If Intel got to be best in the data and computing processing capabilities, AMD rise on the graphics and displays ability.

What's do you mean by the latest Intel processor? Dual Core, Core 2 Duo, Quad Core and the Clovertown core(exclusively distributed to individuals whom only Intel knows.) All my systems in my homes are quad core systems and I've already been preparing for the Clovertown which is 8 cores. It's already in my other house I haven't assembled it yet. I'm waiting to reach my 500th post so that I can post the cpu-z benchmark as proof. It's hard if I'm just all talk and no bite, I'll surely be ridiculed.

Thank you for your exquisite descriptions for those Intel's family line of processors. And to where are these types best suited to work with? Are there already existing motherboards to which these processors are to coupled with? The most appropraite motherboard i find available to which the Intel's processor i attached is with ASUS. You're actually on your 521th post, hopefully will u able to post the cpu-z benchmark then. I am expecting too, that by the coming days Clovertown will be introduced in our local market too. Thanx for an advance techy news.

I use both too, though whenever I decide to buy a new computer, I always go for AMD.
AMD processors generally outperform Intel processors on office applications. Some people argue that Intel processors are better when it comes to floating point operations like in gaming or scientific computations.

i am not suggesting that you may turn for Intel too. It so happened that the line of processor my machine had with is Intel. But when i got to build a new one, this is what i found with most on AMD processors.
Motherboards to which Intel are compatible with are more likely preferable and proven-wise to be of sturdy also. Whereas, AMD compatible motherboards, i found it hard for myself to prefer with. i don't know, maybe it's just a sense of choice.
