My brother is in the hospital

I was awaken this morning by my mom who called me and told me that my younger brother was in the E.R and that he had been beaten pretty bad.
I ofcourse rushed there only to find my brother unconsious. I had such a shock when I saw him lying there so helpless...
Apperently he had been out on a night on the town with the boys and he lost them on their way home. A guy walked up to him and asked him for a cigarette - when he said that he didn´t have any - 3 more guys appeared and the 4 of them kicked his as*. They even kicked him in the head while he was on the ground trying to protect himself the best way he could.
The police showed up and the guys took off - one of them got caught though and he is arrested now..
I am so angry - it is not even safe to go out with friends anymore - something always happens...
my brother is now awake and they are going to x-ray him and his head for internal damages.. it is so scary - but I hope that he will be fully recovered and it looks good so far!!How are we supposed to feel safe in this world with people like this out on the streets?

That is so sad, Marie! I will be praying for your brother and your for your family. It is said that people cannot be trusted anymore - no matter how close to them you think you are. I pray that the rest of the guys that were apart of this would also be caught and justice will be served according to God's Will. I pray that your brother will have no side effects from this event and that we will be able to go home quickly. I pray that you and your family will have God's peace and strength amongst you.

Thank you so much for that. I hope that they catch them all - but they probably will get away and be free to hurt someone else.
I also hope that the kicking they did to his head didn´t cause to much damage - we will get the answer to the scan later today!

My prays are with you and your family. I'm glad they caught someone and hope that they will catch the rest soon. They really need to face charges of attempted murder and need to serve time. God Bless..

I am so sorry to hear that, that is horrible, I hope he recovers without any long term problems. I also will pray that not only will the one man the police caught will be charged with attemp of murder but that they find and capture the other men responsible.
The problem is we can never truly be or feel safe in this world due to people like this and I doubt that it will ever change.

I am really sorry to hear about your brother. It is good news that he is conscious now, and I hope all the X-rays and scans come back clear. It is a dreadful thing to have happened to him, and awful for you and yor parents too. Take care.

i know how you feel and i am sorry i grew up in chicago and seen a lot of things like this i hope your bro is ok and i think cops need to do a better job of patroling and need to keep people like this locked up so we and our children can enjoy nights out with friends and not have to live in fear

am so sorry to hear that marie. you really just have to pray that everything will turn out fine and that your brother will be okay. As for the suspect that has been apprehended you can charge him with serious physical injuries or even attempted homicide depending the circumstances surrounding the case...
just be strong and continue praying.

Sorry to hear about your brother. I will keep him in my prayer.
It is very frustrating and scary that the world is becoming so viloeting day by day. If you think in deep you cna't feel safe anymore. I don't know the way to get rid of this bad happenings.

That is an awful way to get woke up. I hope that all the tests come out ok for your brother and that he is going to be ok. I can not believe that people are this way. I have heard many stories like this one and it is just so sad that someone who was not doing anything at all gets hurt so bad. I hope that they catch the rest of the guys and your brother is able to have them all put where they belong. I will pray for your family and especially your brother, I hope all is ok with him.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother. But nice to hear that they arrested one of the suspects, it will be easy to file charges and from that, everything else will follow because you have a "lead" now. They deserve to be in jail. Praying for your brother's speedy recovery.

Marie, I'm so sorry this has happened to your brother. It's hard to understand such senseless, hateful violence. I hope your brother will get some counseling because such a traumatic event can effect you for life. It is very sad that you really can't feel safe anymore. But then if you become afraid to do anything, the bad side wins.
A few days ago in my community, a mother took a kitchen knife and slaughtered her 5 year old and 8 year old little girls, the family dog, the dog's puppies and the pet mouse. Such evil is just incomprehensible. The only thing you can think is that the woman was insane. But it's perhaps more disturbing when four people collectively attack a person for no reason at all. I'm sure all four of them were not insane---they are just evil. I'm glad your brother has you to help him recover.

yeah that woman must have been insane - and they probably are just evil as you say.
I am sure that it will be long before my brother has the guts to have a night out with friends again and that is just sad since he just recently started to have those.
I am glad that he survived thouhg, they easily could have killed him!

I really hope he is ok and everything works out. I teach and my teenage brothers go to the high school where I teach. Their freshman year, I watched a kid come up and beat the hel* out of my brother. He came up and attacked in a manner that my brother had no opportunity to fight back. Ended up breaking his eye sockets. It was awful as I was the first teacher on the scene!! I will keep you in my prayers.

The first thing I did was to look at your profile to see where you are located.
I thought it was either one of the big cities here in the UK or maybe even the USA.
I was surprised to see that you also have this "disease" in your country!!
Usually it is when the drunks come out of the "Pubs" here in UK
I have heard of a few stories about guys being beaten up like your brother!
I park our car out in the street, and there is many an occassion when on a weekend the "roudies" have either scratched parked cars, bent car antennas or anything they can get their hands on!
Mindless idiots who get their kicks out of causing damage to whatever they can find!
I hope your brother recovers.

Thanx - like i said in the last comment, sweden has latley had alot of problems with violence and gangs - we are no longer a safe country, even though i am sure that it is not as bad as some parts of the states or UK.

Marie..I am so very sorry to hear of the cowardly attack on your brother and I do hope the criminals that did this crime are punished severely.
Unfortunately our societies are crawling with these lice who seek aggression but only on the terms or 2/3/4 to one.
I never seem to think of countries like yours having problems like this. UK and America yes because they are always in the news.
Many years ago my son then 17 came home with his clothes pretty well torn about and with bad bruising on his body. On asking him how this happened he would not tell us so I got onto his friends who were with him that night and they said he was supposed to meet them back at the car but when they arrived he was leaning against the car badly beaten but with two bodies lying on the floor, his opponents. My son is a 3rd Dan Karate, (1st Dan in those days), which the two guys did not know. One had a broken jaw!
They received 6 months each for GBH. (Grievous Bodily Harm)
I do hope your brothers assailants received 6 years or more!!

Sweden has lately had alot of problem with criminals and different gangs trying to take over the streets. Our country used to me safe, but I am afraid to say that with alot of the immigrants the violence also came along.
I am sure that they will get punished, but it will probably be more like 6 months than a year and they will serve 2/3ds out of that =(

Let me start by saying that I am sorry to hear about your brother. I have four younger brothers, and even though I would love to have the power to protect them from everything and everyone that could hurt them, I know that I can't. All that I can do is teach them all that I can from all the experiences that I have had and hope that they will be safe. My faith in god is a big help. Horrible things happen to people everyday and it does seem that nobody is safe..... just have faith......
