Has he gone mad? I thought it was rather a stupid act wanting to go alone, and leaving school.
I think he should deal with his anger at the summer but he simply doesn't realize that he doesn't stand a chance against Lord Voldermort right now, he needs to be stronger, a lot stronger.

harry just wants to get it over with. he left school because he still has to find the other horcruxes so he can really defeat lord voldemort. i think he does have a chance against Voldemort. maybe while looking for the other horcrux his powers will grow and he'll become strong.

Harry has a lot of anger that he doesn't want to deal with, he wants to solve by killing Voldemort, plain and simple. However, I think Harry is smart enough to know that he has to do it alone, and that bringing others along will only cause harm to them, and he doesn't want harm to come to anyone else, anymore. He's fine with risking his life, but he doesn't want to risk the lives of anyone else. He's seen too many deaths occur around him for that.

I think he does stand a change against Voldemort. He's defied him.. four times now? More than NEville's parents or his own.
He wants to act alone out of love. He doesn't want his friends (especially those whom he considers family) to be hurt.
