one of my friends have this disorder, he strives to concentrate and remember things. He uses some sort of medication, and it help according to him. But he meets difficulties and misunderstanding of his situation at his workplace and amongst friends. He can be very intense and loud, maybe weird for some people socially, but he can,t help it.
So I know you have to work with a lot of things. Keep it up. You will manage better and better I hope.
I,m from Norway, but lived in Fort Mill, SOuth Carolina for a year, exchange student. I miss SC. the weather, the people. I really loved it there. Do you know where fort Mill is, it,s next to Rock Hill, close to charlotte, NC.
Good luck to you, have a nice day.
Tom

No I have never been there. Thanks for the SC complaments. Yea ADD is really hard to live with on a daily living. I guess that is why I get along with kids so well.

Has he ever been tested? Does he start things and never finish them. Does black coffee give him energy or calm him down? Does he try to multitask and get everything messed up? Is he forgetful. Does he get distracted while having a confersations. I call it chasing butterflies. I will be talking to someone and something will catch my eye and off I will go on to whatever it is. Good luck

Alot people say you grow out of it. WRONG!! I did not know I had it until my son was dignosed with it. I started to research it. If my son has something, I wanted to know everything about it. Now my son will not take meds to help it. He has had to train himself to live everyday life the best he can. Now me! I would forget to live everyday life with my meds.LOL

I was diagnosed with Adult ADD last year. Just think 43 years old and I got ADD! LOL It is annoying as He**. I forget things, start things and never finish, and got all of these ideas to fix myself but it never works. I make lists of things and forget where I put the lists! LOL I take Staterra. All the rest speeds my heart up. I take this one cuz it doesn't.

I have ADHD and I, too, forget everything! I am on Strattera but it doesn't seem to be helping. I still forget stuff. I still have trouble paying attention. I still have all the problems I had before. Plus nowo my stomach hurts all the time!

A friend of mine was put on Strattera and it made her really sleeply. I have never been on Strattera. I would talk to my doctor and tell him what it is doing to you. Also if you are still forgetting, try list. sticky notes are a adult with ADDs best friend. LOL Good luck

I don't know about you, but with all of the things that we have going on in our lives today, I often have a hard time remembering things too. I find it very helpful to keep a pen and paper close by, because if I don't write it down, chances are that I will forget it by the end of the day.

Oh it must be very hard for you when you can't remember things that you need to know or if you lost something where to find it. Yes it must be dreadful to suffer from this and maybe you cannot remember what you actually discussed as you will forget.

Yea sometimes it does get stressful. I just thank God it could be worse. One time my land line phone was ringing. I run around trying to find my cordless phone everywhere. I knew it was somewhere near but Where? come to find out, It was in my robe pocket. I was like a dog chaseing its tail. My kids got a great laugh out of it. I always call that a squirl moment. Have you ever seen a squirll run out in the road and get confused at which way to go when a car is coming? Well that is me. ( How do you spell Squirl?)

I really think that my husband has this. He has such a hard time focusing at times. It does get really frustrating because I can say something and then two seconds later he doesn't have a clue what I just said. I know it gets really hard for him at work because alot of times people just don't get how hard it is for him to focus and remember things. It really isn't fun to deal with issues like this. I don't know about you, but with him his brain is just going at warp speed thinking of all these crazy things and he just can't shut it off to concentrate on the task at hand. I know he wishes he could though.

It sounds like he needs to be tested. With medication, he could lead a better life. Or without meds, He could train himself in different ways. if you would like any info on adult add, email me and I will be more then glad to tell you everything I know. bicklelady@yahoo.com

Being a teacher I see a lot of ADD, but I have to admit I don't know too many adults that have it diagnosed. I think most diagnoses happen when they are at school, and since it has only just been recognised globally, this is the reason that it's not noticed in adults so much (but I am sure that more people have it than we know about).
My future niece's brother has it. And he is so cute and adorable, but I know that it can be a problem for his mum sometimes when he is being "naughty".
I really feel for you, I am totally sympathetic, and it sounds like you are battling a bit. I hope you win your battle too.
Love and light to you.

Yea when I was in school, I would go into class saying, " I am going to pay attention and do really good" The next thing I knew, I was on my own planet daydreaming. Then the bell would ring and I did not hear anything my teacher said. I made really bad grades.
