Has anyone tried vision training to improve their sight?

I've been wearing glasses since I was about eight years old, and my lenses get stronger while my eyes get weaker. It's been even worse since I've been using the computer a lot, and I decided I'm tired of paying hundreds of dollars for "crutches." I've started on a program of vision training and hope that gradually I will at least get back to where my current prescription is useful again and won't have to be increased. Has anyone tried this or know of someone who has?

Yes, when I was a child I tried the Bates method of eye exercises. Perhaps they helped, I'm not sure. I'm 51 now, still myopic, but my dad keeps promising me that sooner or later age-related long sight will kick in, which will make my eyesight perfect! Hmm...not sure about that...

That doesn't necessarily happen, unfortunately. My eyes have changed at severely different rates, so glasses can no longer completely compensate. And, as it's turning out, I'm too undisciplined to stick with the exercises on a daily basis and really find out if they can help.

I'm not diabetic, and no, I haven't been wearing the same glasses since I was eight. :-) My eyes are getting worse because I'm on the computer for hours every day.

There is a laser operation to correct the eye ball shape. It will make your eyesight better.I have seen lots of people to do it.and they get a good eyesight after operation. But someone told the eyesight will become same as without operation.I am not sure ot it.but i donot want to do the operation.

What's not so well known is that there is always a risk of losting your sight from surgery. Not every one who does it is equally skillful. I'm not willing to take that chance. And I couldn't afford it even if I was willing.

The system I'm using is based on the Bates work, but updated. More explanations of different visual problems, the anatomy of the eye, and a lot more exercises, and some cautions. It's a lot of work and it will take weeks to find out if it helps, but my fingers are crossed. (Except when I'm typing)

I have heard of Eye-Q. I want to get it for my daughter (and me!) but would like to hear from someone other than their sales dept. to see if they had any success with it. Is this by chance what you use? What is yours? Do you have a link to their website, or more info on this?

I've never heard of Eye-Q. Frankly, I'd be suspicious of any company that has a sales dept for something like this. It will probably be very expensive and no better than what you can do for youself, using a book or the exercises on the web. The system I use is from the book I mentioned in an earlier reply.

Since you spend lots of time in you computer, why don't try eating rich in carotine veges such as carrots, squash, toamtoes, broccoli and chili? Specially carrots, its really good for the eyesight. (^-^)
