Does anyone live in the Tampa Bay area?
I'm new to the area, and I want to know what to do besides, like, Busch Gardens...
I go to the Skate Park to see punk shows, and Ybor is really not my scene. I tried. Oh gosh. It's like an experiment: How naked can you be but still be considered dressed?
Any lesser-known fun things to do?
THANKS BUDDIES!

I live in St Petersburg for 5 years. I'm not really sure what your thing is, but there are lots of things to do in the area. Have you tried Bay Walk in downtwon St Pete? Or Channel Side. They have the best bowling alley (I know sounds corney) I have ever been to. It's really a bar with pool tables and darts. But also has a bowling alley. And Howl at the Moon is a lot of fun. It's a dualing Piano bar with audiance participation. An absolutle blast!
Since I'm not into Punk Shows, i can't really go down that alley. but there are always good shows going on at Coachman's park in Clearwater. or head out to sharkey at St pete beach for some volleyball and maitais.
if you want more, just let me know. let me know what interests ya and I'll find something for you.

Oh, I'm not going to limit myself to punk. I'm not that hardcore, haha.
I love bowling! I will need to check that out.
I really want to start doing more outdoor activities, like kayaking or nature walks, etc.
I haven't explored St. Pete so much, but I really want to go to the Dali museum. It's just not something to do every weekend, you know?
But thank you for the suggestions! I just moved from a small town in New Hampshire, so this is all so new to me.

If you want out door go to Ft Desoto Park. It's a state park and costs about 50 cents to get in. Go to the north beach which is much better. There are trails for rollar blading, biking, and hiking. They also have kayaks where you can go on the back waters which are really nice. Good luck in checking things out.

If you decide to give YBor another try - try Club Czar (if it's still there)... its electroclash and not too crowded and the people actually wear clothes.
Have you go to the Tampa Theater? They have a lot of rare and independant films and it's supposably haunted.
If you drive to St. Pete there are a ton of museums, a lot of interesting shops and boutiques, a really great restaurant Moon Under Water, there are two small concert venues - The State Theater, and Jannus Landing that usually have good shows (and fairly descent prices). Also the first Friday of the month there is a block party in down town St. Pete. Everyone comes out and there is a life band. It's kinda fun. Oh and Saturday mornings there is a market downtown...it's very bohemian...fresh herbs, plants, home made soaps, all kinds of interesting food...
CLearwater Pier 60 has a sunset festival each and every night at sunset with street performers, home made craft vendors, henna, drum circles, live bands, etc.
Oh in St. Pete on 1st Ave and 5th Street there is a really awesome coffee shop called the Globe. They always have something cool going on. They have art displayed, really cool djs, they have a henna artist every other week... good food... oh they do weird stuff like once they had a showing of the silent film "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" and they had a special band come in and play music to it.
I would suggest looking in the little weekly magazines that tell you what is going on.
St. Pete has a large punk scene. You really should check it out.
