gas stove or electric stove?

Which do you prefer? I used to like gas more than electric. It's easier to adjust and you can have the results in the change happen faster than with electric. But now that I had an electric stove for so long, I am changing my mind a bit.. I like electric... what about you, which one is your favorite?

I've always liked the fact that gas stoves are cheaper to run and produce instant heat. We have an electric stove and it feels like it takes forever for it to get hot. My husband wants us to switch out our electric stove for a gas one, but the idea of running gas lines and all of that scares me. There was a house about ten miles from here that blew up because of a gas leak!! So, I guess my preference would be an electric stove, even if it does take a little longer to heat up and costs more. I would rather be able to sleep at night and not have to worry about my home blowing up than save some money.

Yes, I used to like gas, but I am getting older, more forgetful ;) and I feel electric is a bit safer now.

I've always believed that gas is better, cheaper, faster and more accurate than electric stoves

Yes, that is all true, and I used to think exactly like that. THen I came here and my first stove was electric and I suppose I got used to it:)

I grew up with electric (but didn't cook much on it). Now that I am an adult I live in a house with a gas stove and I really like it. I think I have more control over the cooking with gas. That is just my opinion though. I think it just depends what you are used to and feel most comfortable using.
