I think it goes 50/50. Drives me nuts when I get on a line with as young girl/guy, they ring everything up, then just stand there and look at me! HELLO, WHAT IS MY TOTAL? I am quick to point our rude cashiers. "Hope you try and have a good day" (Rolling my eyes) Sometimes my kids say "HI!!!" and they won't acknowledge them, "Would it kill you to say hi?"

I know what you mean I've experienced those same things. I've done cashiering before and couldn't stand when customer's don't say anything when i'd say hi or hello, or when they just throw their money on the counter instead of handing it to me-don't customer's like their change handed back to them? One thing I don't like as a customer is when a cashier won't double bag an obviously heavy bag on their own without me requesting it.I have never been a rude customer or cashier though, unless need be but the smaller things never got to me like that.

My response would have to be cashiers they are in the service market they have to be polite and friendly normally it would take certain psychological type to be a cashier but the stores just hire the people ho will work the cheapest.Tell me isn't it aggravating when somebody
looks at you whit a look that tells you she hates her job and she would leave in an instant if she didn't get paid a mod like that pulls yours down to, and people like that tend to be rude if they could they rather throw the groceries at you than pack them.

I think that customers are more rude than cashier,it might be possible for a cashier to be rude to some customer,i know very sure that it can't be to all customers. And i have seen customers that are of high temper that no matter what you do to satisfy them, yet they will abuse you.so i think customer are rude than cashier.
