I think I'm more of a shy person than openly sociable. I guess that's because I choose who I want to socialize with first. In person, when engaging in a group conversation, most of the time I hold back and wait for the right time to say something. I do not react right away in a discussion (unless necessary) but instead try to gauge the level of understanding of people involved before I open my mouth and say something. I guess I'm a bit of a cautious person and I'm mindful of my surroundings. When I'm online, however, my interaction is different. I'm usually more spontaneous and open because there really is no way of gauging people unless you engae them.

I would not only consider myself to be shy, I would consider myself to be painfully shy. I was shy even in kindergarten, but at least back then I was fairly able to talk to kids my own age, up through maybe nearly high school. It was just adults that I felt really shy of. After high school, though, I started becoming incredibly shy, to the point that I isolated myself from the world a lot and now I am having a really hard time coming out of my shell. So yes.. I really haven't said more than a few words to anyone in person in a long time, outside of my mother and father and a few close friends that I know locally.
