Do you think you could manage better with your children than your parents did with you ? Would you be a better parent than they were ?

I think we can all learn from our parents' successes and their mistakes. I think our parents learned from their parents. I see that I make different decisions with certain things like discipline or whatever based on how my parents did things. I see some things that I said I would NEVER do when I had kids, and now I do it. LOL I don't know about being "better" parents than mine were since I had two pretty great parents. But, I know that I can see things that they did that I consider a "mistake" that I will do differently with my kids.

No, I couldn't do better than my parents did with me, because they were wonderful parents. I just had to strive to do as well for my own kids, who have grown up into great dads, so I guess the good work carried on through me. Brightest Blessings.

If I raise my own child, I will do better than my parents did. I grew up being bounced around between family members because no one wanted me. Most of them abused me, and no one really wanted to take responsibility for the whole situation. I'm pretty determined to be a good parent to my son. My husband and I both had very bad childhoods, and we're going to give a much better one to our child.
