This will stretch your memories and your imagination. It certainly stumped me - and yes I will say the name at the end of the discussion if nobody guesses. At the tender age 8 years who on earth in Coronation Street in the 60s could have inspired him to name his doggie after them? All I can say is that this was a very unusual choice, given her on screen persona! Have fun guessing this one!

This is way before my Corry watching days so I'd say Alfie or Sharples after Edid Sharples, Ken or Mike doesn't sound right and that only leaves Rita, Emily and that fantastic cleaning lady or Eddie Yates, Fred Gee, Dierdrie - where they the 70's? The Best Corrie I can remember was Bet and Fred and Betty out in the country in the middle of a lake on top of a car, how funny was that - think I was about 6 or 7 and it's my first memory of the street, with that funny faced landlady. I'd go with Alfie, but I have little idea who was there then!

sorry, I will have to tell you all about it. You can actually access a web site in the UK but I do not know if you can get it in the USA. Try typing "Coronation Street" into a search engine and see if you can find it, it will enlighten you. Basically it is supposed to be a typical Northern England community and the action is based around the lives of the people who live in Coronation Street. Just lately some of the topics have been a bit unsuitable for family entertainment, as a young lady has despatched her partner by walloping him over the head with an ornament! It is a family sort of drama. Hope that is a bit of help. Doesn't help with the doggie name though unless you can access a Corrie (as we call it over here) archive and get at the older character names.
