The Art of LISTENING...

How can you be a good listener? Are listening and hearing mean the same thing? Listening can be considered a form of art where you should learn. On the other hand, hearing is simply an automatic response of human organ to the sounds he perceived. As listening is important, what then can you suggest to be a good listener?

as for me listening and hearing are indeed different. listening is deeper than hearing... listening involves not only your ears but also your heart and mind.
for me, to be a good listener you should have a connection to the one talking have an eye to eye contact don't let him feel that you're not interested of what he is saying or you're mind is flying somewhere.

Anyone with a teenage child will tell you that listening and hearing are not the samething.
They will tell you constantly, yes I hear you.....
then why are you not responding to what you hear?
Oh, you wanted me to do that now?....
Oh, frustrated to know end. How do you really get them to listen, learn and respond appropriately?
