Hip displaysia

Our german shepard is 12 and has hip displaysia pretty bad. He can hardly walk. Any home remedies?

I don't know of any home remedies either. I know its hard when you feel helpless and can't help your dog. Just do your best to make him comfortable. I found some websites that might be helpful to you....

There aren't any home remedies for something like that. If he's overweight, it would help to get his weight down to put less stress on the hip joint. Sometimes surgery helps, but 12 years old may be too old for that. I had a Newfoundland with hip displasia, so I know that you're worried. But you may have to consider having him put down soon if surgery isn't possible. Of course, new treatments may have been developed since I had my dog. Have you talked to your vet about it?
