Cat Seizures

Last night, I think my cat had a seizure. He is a very very healthy 13 year old cat. We took him to the emerg vet clinic and the vet agreed that is what she thought it was.
Now I know this can be caused by so many different things, the two most likely (as far as I know) being cancer or he has eaten something.
So now I am a little freaked out and wanted to know if anyone has gone through this and has any information to offer.
Thanks in advance

Did the vet take any stool samples or have any
blood drawn? If not, than go to a vet rather than
the emerg. clinic. It will be less expensive.
If you go with the odds, chances are the seizure
aren't related to cancer. It very well could be due
to the age of your cat.
I don't know your environment but there are at least
two more things that can cause a seizure. Cats love
to play with geckos, there are many breeds and most
are harmless. A few though have a toxin that can
cause seizures in whatever bites or eats it.
The other is a result of man, whether intentional
or not. Cats will drink from all sorts of places.
Many of these places have chemicals in them.
Have you put a bowl freshener in your toilets?
Antifreeze in puddles of water is a big culprit.
Some evil people will leave water outside in a
bowl with antifreeze mixed in. That is a popular
thing amongst cat haters these days.
Get to a vet to have your baby tested. It could be
nothing but than again, as the saying goes, better
to be safe than sorry.
Good luck.

Thank you both very much for your responces.
Our environment does not have a lot of poisionous creatures. Right now we are in freezing cold weather so the kitties wont go outside.
And no chemicals that he could access like in the toilet.
We didnt do any of the tests because he bounced back so quickly that we just wanted to get him home. (that and the emerg vet bills are through the roof) But blood tests will be as soon as we can get him in.
Oh and I just read that low glucos can cause seizures. Interesting.
Again thanks. It is nice to talk to the other pet lovers

Low glucose, that makes sense. An excellent food
for cats is Science Diet. That gives them everything
they need. Ask your vet about it.

Thanks. I will talk to him tomorrow.
Sigh of all my cats, this one is by far in the best shape, which is what is making this so hard and unexpected.
