I am nuring my 4 month old and my husband has the flu. I know it is inevitable that I get it- his whole family had it last weekend. I know I should still nurseand I know that the baby can't get the flu through my milk. BUT... how do I keep her from getting sick? Is it inevitable at this point too? Help!!!!!!!!!!!

It is probably too late, sorry. If your husband already has it, then the bug is in your house, and it will go around. The important thing is to make sure you clean and lysol everything, and wash your hands constantly. That may help prevent future occurances. If your baby does get sick, do not hesitate to get her to a doctor, babies and flu just do not mix.

Hello, I know that you posted this a long time ago and the flu had prolly been and gone since then, But i just wanted to say that Nursing your child when you and or people around you is sick is the absolute best thing you can do to ensure their health. When nursing your child you pass on any antibodies that you have meaning that your child's immunity to the flu or sickness is heightened. So if you do get a flu and your child too, then you are helping them get better just my giving them you milk, and giving them your antibodies to the sickness. Tanika.
