What is your favorite sports rivalry?

I live in Buffalo, NY and our biggest sports rivalry is with professional hockey. Our team (Buffalo Sabres) and the Toronto Maple Leafs have been rivals for decades. We are about a 90 minute drive from Toronto, so for any game the crowd is generally mixed half and half with fans from each city. It makes for a lot of excitement and yelling & screaming. There usually aren't many serious altercations between fans; when I've been to games in either city it is just plain fun. The teams are always very competitive, partly because of the commotion and noise created by the fans, and the games between these 2 teams are generally very intense and well-played. Right now our team is at the very top of our division and Toronto is very near the bottom- but I'm not bragging (LOL). GO SABRES!

the yankees and red sox. theyre pretty big rivals, i remember a few years ago when there was a huge brawl during a playoff game, they meet alot in the playoffs and theyre in the same division so theyre always fighting for first so its a great rivalry and its never the same winners. some years yankees beat red sox in the playoffs other years red sox beat the yankess in the playoffs.

We have many rivalries in our town the biggest one is agianst our neighborying town byron.
