Grissom's Back! And Kessler Dies! Was this not the best episode of the season?

Wow! What an awsome episode. Great way for Liev to go. Did anyone what him to stay? I know he's a great actor and brought mystery to the show, but could anyone really want him to overpower the other characters? I am glad he's dead. Grissom is great, hands down! Now, why did they not show us what was in the box on Grissom's desk for weeks and weeks? I think it's another scale model of a murder.

Well, here's a big oops. I haven't seen the show yet. I taped it. But I can say I didn't want Kessler to stay. Actually, I don't know why they brought him in to begin with. If Grissom was only going to be gone for a short time, I don't think there was any need whatsoever to bring in another character to take his place. I think the team could and would run without him.
Guess I better watch my tape now.

I heard that they added him in order to make us all think Griss would not return. Then they teased us by saying Grissom would be in tonight's show. Supposedly this was a way to get more Grey's Anatomy viewers to switch over. It's all about the ratings.

I think Keppler's character was very much set up for a quick story arc. They wrote him to be highly controversial, and highly polarizing. Even look at his crime from the past - he did something very bad, but for what he thought were good intentions/because he was set up. It's an interesting concept, but one you can hardly do to full impact on these shows usually because you don't want to screw up your main characters. This gave them a good opportunity to do it with this special guest so they could make the issue up front and personal, yet not lose one of the characters they needed to come back.
I do not think this is going to be the last impact Keppler's character has on the series - I mean, just the look on Grissom's face when Warrick mentioned the 'reverse' scheme makes me wonder.
As for the box - at least where I am they showed it in the previews for next week's episode. It was a scale model, and apparently next week's episode will feature it. Can't wait!

I'm glad Grissom's back! I hadn't been watching for the past several weeks so had missed him leaving in the first place! Saw last nights episode, just in time to see him return! Loved it!
Wasn't too impressed with Kessler, but I don't think this epi showed him in the best possible light. Liked how they had him redeem himself at the end.

I thought his story arc was very well done, even though we could have limped along for the four weeks Grissom was gone without bringing in another character.
As for the box on the desk, the first time it showed up, they did a TMI-cam shot that showed it was indeed a mini-murder model. Grissom made a comment about going out to the scene to avoid the mail and paperwork that had piled up, explaining why we won't see it opened until the next episode (which it will be, according to the previews).

I wanted Keppler to stay and go to days or something. So he would still be on the show from time to time, but not every week. I agree, his character was overpowering, but it would have worked as a fill in from time to time.
I'm pretty sure the box on Grissom's desk is a scale model. I'm not sure how or why it is going to tie in to the show, since it's been sitting there for weeks and usually they arrive at the same time as the crime. I guess we will have to wait and see!
