I drive a diesel engine vehicle as it is cheaper. The cost of petrol keeps on escalating. Recently diesel prices are going up too. Still, it is slightly lower than petrol. Besides, I find diesel vehicles having equally little maintenance like the petrol engine types. How about you? Which do you prefer, if you have a choice. What is your experience using either petrol or diesel engine vehicles?

I have a petrol driven SUV. The engine is much more quiet compared to diesel engined vehicle. Besides, the maintenance is easier too and cheaper.

Although I agree with you, sometimes, we do not have choice because of our job. I have to use diesel because of long road travel. It is cheaper this way. Much though, I'd rather have a petrol driven car.

We have two vehicles in our household, one is petrol and the other is diesel. Because we have horses, we have to tow trailers to haul them around. Although both vehicles are capable of this, it is much more fuel efficient to use the diesel to haul. Also, with the cost of petrol being high and changing from week to week it makes more sense to use the diesel to go from place to place since the price of diesel is more stable. So to answer your question, I definitely prefer diesel.
