There may not be a 4th part of Lord of the Rings but one can expect a Prequel on it. Since there is a prequel Book. It is called "The Hobbit" and the story is about how Bilbo ( Frodo's Uncle ) came into possession of the One Ring. I would recommend reading the book. It really covers many missing things. And there is another book called The Silmarilion. I don't think it can be made into a movie because it is too complex, but if you are more into the world of Middle Earth, I suggest reading this book too. This is the History of Lord of the Rings. How the Ring was made, Who Sauron really is, and Why does the elves have to leave Middle Earth and return to Valinor.

The Hobbit was published before LoTR was published and About Silmarilion, it was published posthumously. They are quite old books, like LORT. I think LoTR was published in the 50s.

true true. Everybody that reads the trilogy should know well enough that after Sauron is destroyed, the Fellowship is ended, Gandalf, Bilbo, Frodo, Legolas and Gimli went to Valinor, Aragorn becomes King, and Pippin, Merry and Sam went to live at The Shire (Sam became the Mayor).
The Hobbit, btw, is a prequel to LOTR. Everybody knows that the story concerns how Bilbo came to find the Ring, and the adventures in which he met Smaug the great Dragon and became entangled in the magnificent Battle of the Five Armies.

as far as i know there will not be another movie in the Lord of the Rings series. they were staying as close to Tolkiens books as possible. to continue the saga would be something else entirely. and IF there was another movie made, i bet Peter Jackson would be involved.

I like Lord of the Rings movies. As a matter of fact I always watched them on theaters. And I say that the animation was great and fantastic. The story was also good which has a lesson. The movie was based on the book and the story was already finished. Adding another story I think is not a good idea. The movie shows that the ring was already destroyed so what's the purpose of the next part when the ring was gone?

as far as i know, the 4th part will never come. i too wished that it should be made. but, the fact is that, its never gonna be made.
I also wanted to see matrix-4. but i know it very well that the directore has already promished that he will not make a sequel to matrix-3.

No, I don't think they'll make a LOTR part IV. But I did hear that Peter Jackson was thinking about doing the Hobbit. I can't wait to see that. He would almost have to call Ian Holmes back to play Bilbo, wouldn't he?

It is one of my favorites but obviously it is only a trilogy. There would be no 4th sequel. Tolkien however have written other books of such genre and if you like lord of the rings, then you would love them too. If LOTR fans are lucky, they are going to make a movie out of them too.
