What are your favorite orchids?

I don't know the names of the varieties, but I really like the ones that are almost ultraviolet in color.

I am not particular about any variety of orchids. I love to look at the beautiful flowers and colors and they last longer than many other flowers. Sometimes they look like plastic or artificial flowers but they are real and beautiful.

I favorite would be Phaleanopsis and Vandas, though they are related the two have very different ways of growing. Phals loved the shade and dappled light and being moist all the time. In contrast is their cousins the Vandas which love the sun and wants to be dried quickly after they are watered. What I love about them is the shape of their petals, so full and so veluptuous. Their colors that are so vivid and their patterns that are so variend and the fact that some of them can be interbred is also a plus. Im a collector and Hope to one day produce my own strain of Phalenopsis or Strap leaved Vandas.
