guess they are finally coming true (and this only saddens me more). Hopefully india matches will come out clean and we will have only good and genuine cricket

There is nothing new about match fixing, it existed even before Azhar era, during Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar's time also.
Match fixing is rampant in cricket, because it is very easy for the batsman to say that he is not in form, after playing a loose shot.
Unlike Tennis, Soccer etc. cricketer's can get a place in the team just on the basis of past records and seniority.
Until and unless team places are decided on the basis of rankings (ATP style), players will continue fixing matches especially senior players whose places are secure in the team.

Guess it is a hard reality that we have to face and tackle. Good idea from you though, a ranking system based on international and first class performance can surely help our cause

I agree with you totally. I just can't understand why do Cricketers get involved in match-fixing despite being able to earn so much money for playing games as well for endorsement contracts. I just can't believe the results in most of the matches taking place nowadays. Everything appears to be pre-settled. It is more a table game than a field game. No way to give it a check. Nobody really cares much unless and untill it is exposed like Nagpur incident. If things go in this way, Cricket will definitely loose public attention.

Hi dear...
I read your previous discussion and found your gusses right
I do have same feeling, but when ever I put my thoughts people slams me! Well what I have to say that this samules case is nothing, a match cannot be fixed by just one or two players only on either sides! there are many things undercoverd ofcourse! Can you belive india possesed a record for 17 wins continuely, batting second, and then lost in quick sucession in Westindies and than even more worse in South Africa? You know one thing I can never trust Indian team, they are playing with our emotions if the are indulged in Match fixing and should be punnished harder!
