Are you for consumers freedom?

Our market is flooded by Chinese products which are several times cheaper than its branded counterparts. True that these chinese products are of less quality but they are just fair for the low prices. But mind you there are also select products that are comparable to other knwon quality products. Now the government is confiscating chinese products they labeled as hazardous or poor in quality. Where is the consumers freedom to choose here? I think it what the government must do is to make the consumers an informed choice and let them decide which to buy, at their own risk. I suspect there are big companies behind the raid and confiscation because their profits are threatened by chinese products that are getting good patrons. What do you think? Is the government right?
