How old do you think your children should be when you talk about the Birds/Bees?

Thank you, I agree that they need to know when their bodies change, but I think maybe they should know a little before so the know what is coming. Thank you for your response.

I started talking to my daughter about it when she was 10 because her body was starting to change. And I have seen girls getting pregnant as young as 12. So I have also been talking about it with my son since he turned 10 few months ago. I want them to know that it is o.k. to be attracted to others that it is normal. I also wanted them to understand the emotional conection that goes on with that type of a relationship and where I stand on it. I hope that they will wait until they find there special someone that they want to be with for the rest of there life. But I also realize that in todays society with alot of the peer pressure that it is hard and sometimes peer pressure wins and gets the best of us and we give in because it seems like the norm in todays society. As they get a little older I will definetly inform them more about birth control and the different types just in case. But I think it is important to discuss it and your views often and listen to there opinion also. So that they know what to expect and can make hopefully a good decision on there own when the time comes.

Children have their own understanding capacity. I think when the child is six or seven months old, we can talk about birds/bees.
