Everyday, we listen to different kinds of music. We also have our own favorites. But If you were to choose, which do you prefer? Originally-written songs or Revivals?
Sometimes, I prefer revivals because I could compare the way the different artists sing it.

I like the originals even though the revivals may sound good you just cant beat the originals. But then again if youve never heard the original version then you wouldnt know you werent listening to it. Like i didnt know that the song off the bodygaurd was actually sang by dolly parton and sang in country style did you?

I am still an artist at heart.
Most of the music your age hear and may enjoy today are mostly revivals. And still bites. for most of us who lived our wonderful years way back when remember and enjoy the song as they were. One way or another these revived songs etched our way of living and our way of looking at things even without trying.
Originals or revivals? The answer would be what rendition hit you? Lets give some examples:
1. The Byrds- revived "turn, turn, turn" and the lyrics was written around 3,000 years ago.
2. MYMP- Best revival for me- "Everything she does is magic" written and performed by the Police in circa 1981
and so forth and so on.
Any song's soul will always find itself being revived for it is continously reaching.

Almost Always I prefer the priginal music. I think it is because you get used to the particular song and hearing a different version feel akward.

i prefer very much the originally written songs, revivals are secondhands made by copycats and lacks taste.

I think it all depends on the song and artist in question. I like the remakes when they do something different to it. Make it sound somewhat different to the original, either musically or lyrically. For example, I like Foreigners 'I Want To Know What Love Is' but absolutely love the Tina Arena cover with the additional bridge. I like both the original and Dixie Chicks cover of 'Landslide', but hate the Jessica Simpson cover of a Robbie Williams song (Angels I think it was.)

I like originals, i dont think i have ever heard a remake i have liked better than the original version, and i think it shows a lack of creativity and its an insults to ones fans when then rehash something thats already been done instead of writing and creating their own music and style, but maybe thats just me

I always prefer my favourite songs in originals only otherwise it is ok. Also if the music is of solo kind I dont mind about originals or revivals. If there is something unique in the music I go for originals.

Original music. Any musician/singer can do revivals but to put up an original music is a difficult thing. You can see the artistic vision of musicians through their original music.

err... revivals of those new artist.. i think they can't create their own material.. sooo they resort to just changing the touch of an old song and claim the fame through young audiences. :P
they should write their own songs for my own opinion.
cheers ^^
