what would you do? would you help the person and be the good samaritan? or would you just look the other way. would you help depending on the situation? women would probably try to get out of the way, and im pretty sure some men would do too. is it practical just to avoid the situation? how would you feel if you are the one being mugged?

I will not be a hypocrite here. Modesty aside, I would be scared to even look so I think I would try to flee the scene. But if it's somebody I know who is being mugged I think I would panic and collapse. The best thing I could do is pray for protection and call for help. If I were the one being mugged? Oh my word, be it far from me.

I would call for help and if I was able to I would help that person being mugged. I sure would appreciate the help if it was me being attacked.

If ever I saw someone who is being mugged or robbed maybe first thing that I will do is to run away from the situation. Too bad but it seems that is the best way to avoid myself from danger. Most of those who robbed have back-ups and most of them have no heart so they are willing to shoot someone so that they will not get caught. My husband has a different idea on this issue. He really wants to help. One time while we wait a jeepney there are group of teenage gang members who was chasing a guy inside jeepney then they throw stones. My husband run so that he will call the police and the gang members saw us. So I hold him to be just still. He was so mad at me because I hold him. He said that what will happen to this world if all of us would not care. I told him what will happen to our family if they would chase you because you reported them to the police.

I've had this experience a lot of times. I was mugged a lot of times and I've also seen people been mugged a lot of times. I guess I started caring when I had my first experience, the guy already took my valuables and gave me a stab on the arm as a parting gift. I tried caught up with him and fought with him but I was bleeding too much. The people around me didn't seem to care, they just watched as I shouted to them asking for help. Not even one was kind enough to at least look for the police. After that ordeal I became for vigilant to that cause but I'm not stupid. I'll help directly or indirectly. That depends if I'm putting the victim in even more danger if I foolishly intervene head on. I'm a trained special forces soldier and I've killed people before in the name of defense, protection of others and self-preservation. But that was in a war and robbery and mugging are petty crimes with the same violent notion. If I know the person just has a knife I'll let him leave the victim first before I pursue him or better yet just inform the cops. But if I'm on duty like in Sudan, and I'm assigned to protect the civilians I won't hesitate to shoot and kill any and all attackers.

Call the police....Police! Police!. On a more serious note, I'll way the situation first, if it is just one person, I'll find a big stick or anything that would serve as weapon and help the person. But definitely, I would call the police first or ask others help. I think if one witness a situation like this, we should try to do something to help. we should look at it as an opportunity given to us by God to do good things in our lives.

yes, i totally agree. its better to weigh the situation first if it would be effective to interfere or just call the police for help.
