Posting topics somebody has already posted!

I seem to see a lot of people posting discussions that have already been started. This has happened today over the death of Anna Nicole Smith, and a few days ago when the format of mylot changed.
At risk of being a party pooper I suggest that the people who are creating a discussion should use the search function to search for the topic that they are about to write. This way they do not have to create a multiple thread and only need to add to the original discussion.
Do you think that this is a good idea or do you think that it doesn't matter?

this gets on my nerves so much too. i hate when i come on mylot and there are like 50 discussions over the same subject. i think that if someone posts a discussion that is the same as someone else then it should be delete by some sort of moderator on the site.

It's a good idea...but it doesn't matter.It goes like this:when i got an idea..i go so exited that even my cat looks at me with a veeeryy strange look.I assume my cat is happy for me.Now...if my cat is happy for me..why would i ruin my excitement by searching if someone had that idea before??At least this is how i do it ...for now.AND IT WORKS FOR ME lol :)))cheers
