Having watched the new movie, in pursuit of happiness I got to question which is more important given that you can't have both, Love or Happiness?
I am failing to make a choice.

Aren't love and happiness one and the same? I mean, if you feel love in your heart for all around you, you're happy. If you're happy, you feel love for all. I haven't seen that movie, I want to, so I'll make a point to seeing it.

WOW! Good question. But, don't they go hand in hand? If you have love, aren't you automatically going to be happy? I guess I would choose love since I would figure if I had love of a significant other or a child, I would find my happiness.

I used to think so too. But once I realized that they are people who are in love but are not happy because of, for example, economic problems I began to doubt if there could be a case where one can have either but not both.
Then on watching the movie, I realized that in the end he may have had happiness but not love.
However the fact that they emphasize the issue of bieng happy made me wonder which of the two between love and happiness is more important.
