pet dogs turning monstrous!!

Pet dogs are usually not known for such behaviour,especially Poms. I had pom for 16 years and it has never displayed anything like that. The only time my dog gets angry is when we disturb him while eating.

If it was their first child maybe they started ignoring the dog and only paying attention to the child. If a dog is always used to attention and then suddenly he is ignored completely because of the baby it might upset him. Thats not always the case but it might happen. I read somewhere that a week before the baby comes you should start ignoring the dog. Continue his excercise and reward him for good behaviour but otherwise ignore him. That way he wont associate the baby with the lack of attention when you finally bring the baby home. And most important no matter how long you have had the dog, dont leave him alone with the baby. Ive had pets too but we never had any more siblings after that so we were never in a situation like that. Our dogs were absolute darlings but it doesnt hurt to be cautious.

The dog was probably jealous, and dogs will see babies as helpless and likely prey. We have three dogs who are all good with kids but I would never leave my infant granddaughter alone with them!
