Is Peter Petrelli going to absorb all their powers and ruin the city?

There are predictions and premonitions made by Isaac and Peter but they could possibly come true? Is Peter going to be the cause of destruction in the entire city of New York? If so, I think all of us have an idea that it's going to happen so I don't think it will exactly happen in one of the episodes. What do you think?

Hi I don't think that Peter is absorbing all the heroes powers. I think each hero has the ability to use all the powers but they have only learned to use one power that they discovered on their own. Remember when Peter was thrown off the roof. Instead of flying he hit the car. But his body recovered because he said he thought about Claire and how her body heals itself, just before he hit the car. So if a hero has seen another power in use by another hero they can remember the incident and use that same power. I believe that is what Sylar is doing. What do you think?

Which is why I'm anticipating to watch the next episode because I won't be expecting the obvious from it. I hope so, or it would be rather disappointing for the viewers.

I think it really depends on what the limitations of Peter's power is - I mean, I can't see it being a case of 'if he meets you once, he will always have your power' - that seems a bit much. Especially since Sylar has to kill them to gain their power completely. I think there's got to be some limits on it, and the question really is what are they. I don't think that Peter being involved or not eliminates the exploding man issue - I really think it's either the radioactive man or Sylar (after absorbing radioactive man's powers) who will explode, and they'll realize that they shouldn't have been focusing on Peter and this is the real problem. Especially if Peter gets his powers under control by then so he can't lose control of the power if he absorbs some from radioactive man.

See, I really think that he *is* absorbing any powers that he comes into contact with. I think the limit they're building in is that Peter will have to maintain conscious control of the power at all times in such a way that it prevents him from being able to use abilities to their fullest... or it'll be a psychological thing that he's afraid to fully use his power.

The "premonitions" never actually show Peter blowing up, and I'm sure that is on purpose. I think it is most likely Syler going "boom" after opening up nuclear-guy's brain. Peter is going ot have to absorb all the "good" hero's powers in order to have any chance of stopping him and/or saving the city.

I also noticed that in some of the scenes that Peter came in contact with Sylar, he didn't seem to have acquired Sylar's power. What could be the cause for this? So Peter could only mimic or absorb the good heroes' powers and not from the evil Sylar?

I think based on what we just learned about the identity of Claire's real father, Nathan Petrelli, and the comment she made in the vision about Peter being her hero, and now knowing that Peter is her uncle, I have a really strong feeling that Sylar is going to attack Claire again, and that Peter will go *nuclear* to save her.

that's a brilliant thought! but for Peter to save Claire with the rest of the city ruined, that sort of contradicts his being one of the heroes. there's got to be a reason for them to be connected with new heroes sprouting in the episodes. it must be hard to deal with all of them.
