Pimsleur for Chinese

I'm wanting to learn chinese and was thinking of purchasing the pimsleur course for this. Has anyone else used it/tried it?
I realize this is just for speaking, and I'll seek other sources for learning the grammer/writing and other aspects of the culture.

I know this is from three years ago, but I'll offer my advice in case anyone else was wondering. Pimsleur's Mandarin, like all Pimsleur's tapes, does a very good job teaching the language, but for some reason they chose to use Beijing Mandarin, not Standard Mandarin. All the speakers ?? (put an r on the end of every word where there isn't one), which is ok I guess, but I find it very annoying.
