I, for one, am a little confused by those choices. Maiden, of course, are a great band, and would be brilliant headlining Download. Linkin Park and MCR, whilst both being bands whom I personally enjoy, are not really Download material. Linkin Park haven't done anything for ages, and MCR are really more emo than Download.

While I do like Linkin Park and MCR, I don't think MCR should be headlining... sure, feature them, but not a headline. Over the last few years I have heard comments that Download has become more expanded, to include most types of alternative music. But I think the original Download-type bands should be headlining. Linkin Park are legends in their own right, which is probably why they are headlining, and they must be releasing something soon, but MCR are still quite new to the scene, and too emo/commercial to be headlining.

Linkin Park are bringing out a new album this year wich will be out at the same time as Download starts i think. I am in the music industry and I have herd there album and to be honest its nothing special they only have about two new songs on there the rest are remix's. The new songs are rely good and i think they will do good at download but it is a bit annoying with the remix's.

I think maiden are certainly a right choice for download, im not a fan admitidly, but they are a right choice. Linkin park i think will actually be a crowd pleaser, due to the fact most people aint seen them for ages and they will be a good choice for the people who grew up listening to hybrid theory. But my chemical romance...NO NO NO NO, i think this is bound for disaster. Most the people there will not like MCR, and may get agressive/abusive to the band or even other fans. I really dont think MCR will go down well at such a high caliber festival.

Hmm, i honestly think Maiden and linkin park dont mix well together. Their audience is different, being maiden audience a more heavy metal driven audience and linkin's a more nu metal scene audience. But who knows, music has always been good in making ppl come together and it might work out just fine!
