Bratz vs Barbies - What do you buy for your little girl and why?

Some think that Bratz dolls are ugly, but in sales, they seem to be outnumbering Barbies.
Are Barbies for the younger set (4-8) and Bratz for the older girl (8-12)? What do you think? (Actually, even though she won't admit it, my 13 year old still plays with Bratz...
Come on, mom...what do you think?

To me they are just dolls. My two girls likes them and there ages are 4 and 10. They both have barbies and they have bratz. I think Barbie will always be around way after bratz crumbles. I even have barbies, lol. Mine cost more than the average Barbie. I know when my girls out grow the dolls, mine will be taken care of when I'm not here anymore.
When your daughter fully outgrows her bratz, you can make some money selling them on ebay. I know they have to sell those on there. You can find Barbie and other dolls.
