Why do you subscribe to PTR and PTC sites

I have not tred any Get paid to read (PTR) or Paid to click (PTC) sites and am wondering why do people sign up for these sites when the pay out is really really low. Most offer $0.001-$0.005 more or less for reading or clicking. Why do you sign up for these sites when 99% of these sites are scams and their pay rate is so low that you would be better off not using the sites and just spend that time to sleep or do something else. ?
Can someone tell me the benefits of using these sites and why anyone should spend time and effort with them ? If there are some genuine reasons to participate then I would consider joining.

I used to have many and spent way too much time on them and I would always end up with a Virus on my computer eventually... It was ok when it was min payout at 1c I could acheive that... It became annoying after awhile.......

I have tried and joined several of these sites with little to no sucess. It is true, they do pay. But as you said, it is just way to low. ANd worst of all there are sites that pay 2 to 5 cants, but the minimum payout is extremely high like 25 dollars. By the time you reach that amount it would have been years...and the ones that have a low payout hardly ever pay more than half a cent. Also, my worst experience was almost reaching the minimum payout and then started receiving lesss e-mail to the point where they jsut stopped and i never earned any money. =(

I think we all want to make useful time on the internet and we try them to get some return. I find that most are scams and way to hard to earn money. I do like mylot but the payments seem to be smaller now when we have more users. I really dont think this will keep up if they pay so little.
