We live in trying times today and just a mere 20 years ago you could leave your door unlocked or go blocks away from your home to play with friends til late in the night. Today, I wont let my 13 year old daughter go out in the parking lot of my complex if the sun is down...I feel sorry for her that she cant enjoy life and living like I did....AND I GREW UP IN DETROIT!!!! THE MURDER CAPITOL OF THE WORLD!!!!

I really feel for thse who have kids, becausethey not ony have to worry about them. They have to worry about themselves. Crime has become what seems to be a national past time. It is the way more people make their living today than before. Not to mention all the mental blocks that people have towards the way it is, cause they grew up in the hood. I grew up in those neihborhoods and never saw the rediculousness that see everyday at work. Childrn seem to have it the worst. They are targets everywhere, sometimes even in their own homes.

I feel you. I hope she'll enjoy her life even though there are restrictions. Wish you the best

I understand what you're saying. I too feel horrible that I keep such a tight rein on my kids but you have to nowadays. Mine are 4 & 7 and they are not allowed to play in the yard by theirselves. Sounds excessive I know but their are alot of whacko's out their. I think those days of sending the kids out to play by themselves are long gone. It's very sad.
