Children with ADHD & SCHOOLS

Since my grandaughter has been in school she has been on medication for her ADHD. She has to take the medication in the morning before she leaves for school and also before lunch. Several times she has not been allowed to go to the nurse's office to take the medication. By the time she gets home from school and we are home from work on the days she does not get her medication we are all suffering. She gets into trouble at home for just going crazy. She breaks things, hits and throws temper tantrums. I told the doctor about it and he has told the teacher how important it is for her to get her medications on time. Yesterday when I got home from work we had another night of tantrums. I asked her if she had been given her meds and she said no because she had to stay and study for a test. She is only 10 years old. A friend at work told me she works in a high school in the office and was told that if the student does not come and get their meds, the office has to go and get them to take their meds. What is it with a grade school. They are johnny on the spot when it comes to whine about when she is acting up.....Mishelle Nicholson

This has been a problem with the schools for so long. They are so insistant that the kids be medicated so I dont know why they dont follow up on it when the kids are in school. Makes no sense at all.
