i love bowling... but bowling doesnt like me... help

since i was a kid me and my dad used to play bowling and i really love to play it. now that im an adult i still love playing bowling but cant get the right way to do it. its like singing.... some people love to sing but not nice ti hear. so do i have to give up liking bowling?

I have been bowling for a good time now. I have noticed that most of the older bowlers are always willing to give pointers to you. Have you ever asked anyone for some help on form? After 2 yrs. of looking at the pins when I was throwing the ball, someone told me about the marks on the lane. Once I started throwing at my mark, my average went up about 20 pins per game. Then when I got a new ball, I got a curve ball and learned how to throw that. Sometimes little changes make a big difference. I also noticed that it is easier to take direction from people you don't know as well as you do your family.

thanks for that... ill try asking points from people i meet at bowling place, but sometimes im too shy to disturb them. but i will try asking points. thanks very much

NO WAY!!!!!!! You should never give up on something you enjoy doing. There are always ways to improve your skills. Either take lessons or ask for pointers. Bowling isn't always about the scores. Sometimes it is just about how much fun you have. Join a league and GET INVOLVED!

You should not give up liking bowling as that is a very fun activity and a good way to get out and have some fun. You do not have to be good to have a good time bowling. Bowling takes practice and the more you do it, the better you will get at it. Keep on bowling and have fun. I am not very good at it but still enjoy it very much.

Hi. I dont' think you should give up your love for bowling simply because your an adult now. Perhaps you simply need to play more often. Don't be conscious about people your age not liking bowling because we are all entitled to our interests. Enjoy the sport because you like it :)

Hey you, if you like to bowl, enjoy meeting people, or have fun while you are bowling why give it up. I started with a 10 average, 5 years later I finally broke 100. Now 40 years later I am glad I never gave up and have enjoyed a high game of 299 an average over 200 and a wonderful group of friends. If I didn't enjoy it I wouldn't bowl. It is not the score but the joy and fun I have. Don't give up what you enjoy!

yes you are right why will i give up, there is nothing wrong or bad on bowling... just the scores i get (lol). well thanks for the advice. wink wink

I am completely with you on this one. I also am awful at bowling, but enjoy experiencing it. I say keep doing it.. if it brings you joy, then why not?
