The Perverse Perception Of Atheism If we press on the matter , and think...we can profess that there is a God...though unseen He is....the matter of the topic is that there has to be a Higher Being....someone with all the authority....someone to watch over the universe, the Sun, The Moon, the Stars.....Someone who makes sure everything is harmoniusly working in Nature.....

you call atheism perverse, an atheist would call you foolish or weak, agnostics are to busy trying to decide what they've decided on. your statement is based off of obviously belief had point of veiw. this is what i have in reply to your above statement: YOU need to believe in god, in because YOU need an anchor in your life. YOU need to know that here is some purpose in all of this, because YOU in and of YOUrself are too weak to assume such a role. this is the base of all god believing religions, mankind is too weak, we need someone to rely on, someone must be out there help us help us, there has to be a point. you call atheismm perverse because they hold no such belief, they dont need an anchor they are the gods in their universe. they dont need a point the point is that its their life to live as they wish. agnostics are more like your manic depresives and flow between the two.

The problem is it can be very hard for people to understand how someone can believe or not believe something they see as obviously not the case. Atheists know there is no God, so seeing someone who believes there is is like believing in the tooth fairy. To people of religion, atheist are seen as if they have there head in the sand to what they see is overwhelming evidence of God. We believe what we belive because to us, you'd have to be blind or stupid not to see what we see. Agnostics, like me, I think are far more tolerant and understanding of others' beliefs. Force

agnostic - agnostic
i feel tat there is nothing wrong with atheist.. the way they think is quite impressive and the concept of god jst evolved over the humans... do u see any animals worshiping gods? well we are not animals so we worship the god then why did god want only humans to worship him?the question abt the presence of god is like an ocean where what we knw and understand is jst a spoonfull.. thats why i'm an agnostic and i feel tat i'm on safeside..

Just out of curiosity, why did you title this discussion this way? "Perverse" is a pretty offensive word, yet there's nothing in the rest of the discussion that explains why you think atheism is worthy of insult. All you did was make a circular argument for the existence of God.

Not at all! Only you think like this! I do respect GOD and let me clear you that nothing is offensiv or for argumnt! It is just a discussion.

OK, but "perverse" has negative connotations in English. I'm glad your intent wasn't to insult atheists.

whether you're part of a religion or you're part of the religion of atheism, if you take a second to step back and look at everything in perspective, you'll realize there is no real way to answer the big question- "is there a God?" this is because we can neither prove nor disprove the existence of a higher being via science, only by a personal belief system. the problem is that these personal belief systems are typically grown directly from the person's parents. "my parents believe it, therefore it must be true." giving your parents that much authority is very naive. giving any human that kind of authority is ridiculous. on the other hand, atheists say "science can't prove it, therefore it doesn't exist." this is equally myopic. atheists are just as faith driven as any religious person. agnostics like to seem wise by staying on the fence, but really, they're wimps too. it's like never picking a team because you might lose. they say it's "keeping an open mind" but i say it's "not having the balls to investigate yourself." anyway, that's what i think. -scott

So you are claiming that you can prove that there is a god. If so, please develop your argument better, so we can discuss it.
