why do some people have to take over things?

can someone please tell me why when you have a group of people either online or in person just chatting someone has to get in it and start making rules has to what can be said or done. everything was going fine till they decided to become boss and i guess most people look at this as helpful but i look at it as being in charge. so normaly i am the type to confront someone about this but this time i just quit being involved in the group. am i wrong? can someone explain to me why people do this.

Some people like to be in control of things, and some just think their decisions are better than anyone else's. If all the members of the group go along with it, there's not much you can do about it.
