Should i have contact with my birth mother?

she gave me up when she was eighteen years old. my birth father had died in an accident and i believe my life turned out better than it probably would have before. my birth mom is a very nice woman and i've only seen her a few times.she is my adoptive parent's cousin.is it too late in life to speak to her? im 20 lol. k.thanx.
