religious conversion

I really disapprove of attempts at religious conversion. This may rile some who have strong evangelistic tendencies, but I do feel that trying to change another's religious belief is quite pointless. In many instances abandoning one religion for another has caused strife and dissension among family members, especially among those with strong religious convictions. Surely the purpose of religion is not to create disharmony?

I think tho that most people who try to convert others really think they are doing a wonderful thing for the person they are trying to convert. They think that they are saving that person's (after)life.
If they disrupt a person's family by converting someone they write it off since their belief may be that what is in this world doesn't matter.
I don't know how I feel about this actually. I mean everyone has free will and if someone wants to be converted they will be. If they don't want to be, want to believe, they won't be converted.
