Should pedophiles be castrated?

I agree with you. Given the chance, 1. I would like to give punishment to rapists - remove the organ. They should never be able to do such a thing in their life. 2. I would like to chop off the legs of those who abuse the child 3. I would like to chop off the hands of those who steal 4. I would like the terrorists to be caught alive and they should eat food from their legs and crawl on land 5. Those who cheat others should be sent to beggers colony for hand to mouth eating. When I look at the beautiful world, I feel the punishment should be reduced because to err is human. But when I see the emotional break down of the affected person and their family members, I feel the above punishment should be implemented.

castrating a child molester will not stop them molesting, either its a power trip. Heaven forbid what do we do with female child molesters? there are many more of them than most people think, should we tie them to a tree and pour honey over them too? or should we try to work out ways of accessing how they think? We need to recognise that not all pedophiles are males, but scarely most of those we catch are. Maybe we should start examining women too

no i dont think they should be castrated thats too good for them i believe that they should no longer enjoy the prevelidge of breathing the air on this planet and should be removed permanently from the human race

chemical castration ,physical castration, tattoo their hands and face so if they do get out anyone that looks at them will know what they are. or the other extreme is lock them all up together and use them as animal testers, or just let them do it to each other. i hate people like this and have no sympathy at all for anything that happens to they they are the scum off the earth and we should all wipe our hand off them.

I agree totally, i recently started a discussion along the same lines, i think that the families (or victims) should have an option to decide on what punishment the offender should recieve (and carry it out if they want), these types of people are the worst types of people on the planet and any punishment that does not involve serious pain and physical damage to their whole being is far, far too good for them.

I have no respect for pedophiles at all, but I do not think that anyone should be castrated. That is cruel and unusual punishment, and it's very illegal. I think it needs to stay illegal, there is just too much room for abuse and I just don't think it's right. Pedophiles should just be locked up for a long, long, long time if not life. I don't think most of them can be rehabilitated, although some can be!

well seeing as my stepdad raped me as a child i do believe that pedaphiles should be able to get castrated legally but in my opion that is not enough especially seeing how much damage these pedaphiles do to their victims.

Yes they should be castrated to say the least. They should also not be let loose in society with innocent children. We as a society have to come up with away to keep our children safe from people like this and it angers me that more and more are out there. Just yesterday I ready that a little boy was raped and it was the forth time that it had happened in the school. Which was really upseting.

Rehabilitation will not work. Keep them in jail, they are not fit to roam amongst us. The punishment should reflect the crime. If they are not castrated, they will be able to commit the crime again. We need stricter penalties for these monsters. Lock them up and throw away the key.

I have actually begun this same topic. I do believe it should happen. I know that it is in their mind but relieving them of their drive and gender would be the true punishment. Women abuse children sexually too. If this is too harsh or uncivilised for some then how about a frontal lobotomy? Some mind altering surgery to correct their problems? But not incarceration where they get to bludge of my tax dollars thank you.

One point here that people do need to take into consideration, and I will probably get slammed for this, but a large percentage of child molesters were likely molested themselves, and I don't think they can help themselves. Would your punishment of castration apply to them as well?

YES they should be castrated, they should also cut of thier hands. Then trow them in the middle of town and let the public deal with them.

That would not affect the outcome really. I was with a guy without the package and it worked just fine. Not sure what the cure would be except to lock them away and not let them out. period. Fence in a county or something and make them work for each thing they are permitted to have. Their production of products would support some of society and they get just what they would need to survive. Probably not viable however a possible solution.

Probably not. I do think they should recieve life sentences in jail along with rapists and murderers.

Yes I think this should definitely be a "part" of the punishment. Pedophiles are the lowest of the low in my opinion and really any form of punishment I don't believe is enough. I do not believe they can be rehabilitated, I think they have a problem in the genetic make up of their bodies that can never be fixed. I have never heard of any of them being rehabilitated.

Well, as they say, violence begets violence. I think it's a bit harsh to castrate pedophiles. That would put us back to the middle ages. It's like cutting off the arm of petty thieves or putting off the legs of snatchers (which some middle eastern countries still do). I think intensive theraphy should be way for these people to become productive members of society. Don't get me wrong here- I hate pedophiles and I think they should be punished. I just think that castration would be too harsh of a punishment.

I agree that they should be castrated. I have also seen a pedophile get Depo-Provera shots to control his 'urges'. The guy wasn't quite all there, so I guess that's why they went this route with him.
