Why do we have to have a national hero in our country?

National hero is respected, because he/she has done very great thing four the country. And of course the monument was build to commemorate what he/she has done, To remind his/her country-fellow man that the country is in better condition because because of what he/she has done. So people will continue the duty to build the country to be better. Like people in my country. We have so many national heroes, most of them are Kings from the traditional Kingdom of my country. They fight Holland that at that time was ruling Indonesia. And for their works, the government give them National Heroes predicate. But now, modern people don't put respect to that national heroes that gave his/her live for the freedom of my country. Modern people keep doing corruption and it destroys my country time by time. We don't respect the spirit of our national heroes, and that makes us crumbling down.

Someone to look up to. Someone to inspire us to do better. Pride of a country. Most of our heroes risked their lives for the country.

In my country, national heroes are the ones who made my country free from colonialism and have its independence. But now, most of the citizens forget about what should they do to continue these great men's sacrifice, all they think is that the heroes are only part of history book.
