When we talk about someone to a third person we generally refer the person as our "friend". But how can we decide when we can consider a person our friend. Is only knowing someone or talking to someone makes the person our friend or is it something else ? What qualities makes a person our friend and whom we can trust..

I think friend is not just one another word...For me friend is someone very special a person who is there when u need him
A person u can share all your life and emotions with..A person who understands u and is with u in our good and bad times too
So for me friend word is very special and it takes me time to call someone as my friend not just every other person i talk to can be my friend

well...we generally refer to anyone we know as friends..i mean..i do it atleast..but a true friend as i expect them to be..is very hard to get..i dont think i have anyone to be called as true friend..but i do have a couple of best friends..nowadays, its tough to get someone whom you can solely trust..for guys actually..they are more close with friends..but girls, are moer attached with family, and dont devote much with friends...am happy with my friends..and i've learnt not to expect much from anyone...as for me..i always do the best i can..and do a lot for my friends!!:)

it takes me time to consider a person my friend. if ive known a person for a long time and i feel like i can trust them with my secrets and we have a fun time together when we go out i consider them my friends. i generally have to have something in common with my friends. where friends are concerned i dont feel opposites attract.
