ofcourse..no publicity is needed for charity work!!..but there are people who expect publicity for their charity work..well..such charity will lose all its charm!!..

But what if their fans get aroused if their idol pay, take for example, if we get to know Sachin Tendulkar is doing charity, I am sure at least a few million would follow him. So isnt he endorsing charity for free by giving publicity?

well..i guess stuff like that are an exception..perhaps the purpose behind the publicity is to be analyzed..the point is publicity for the sake of pure fame is unnecessary!!

That is the duty of the "charitable institutions" to somehow get people to pay for them. But the very person who pays need not come to lime light at all. That was my point.

Charity is personal thing. Dont make it public !! The people who do charity work for gettin fame is doing those works with wrong motives. If anyone seriously want to help others he wil l do it privately. Thats what I think.

i think charity and publicity are indespensible though you are doing charitable acts in public and most of the people think that the one doing this act wants to be noticed by the whole people that surrounds him like the politicians.... its election time now and i know most of politicians are trying to gain the attention of the fellowmen so they are doing this.........this is in the other side.
but in my side, charity and publicity have no connections especially when you are doing these acts with your whole heart and not expecting for any returns from the one you had been helping with........ that is charity and not publicity....

I think if your really don't want publicity giving to a charity then do it anonymously. Many people feel by going public with their donation they can bring in others to donate.
