Cooking with kids

I love cookng with my kids altough theres so much tidying to do after even if they help lol. We do biscuits, fishcakes, scones, pies with pastry top pictures, casserole, stew,(I cut they add), mashed potatoe, cakes, icing on biscuits, chocolate covered fruit, rice crispy/cornflake cake, bread, all sorts of things, there's always a little something towards a meal or treat they can do, but once it gets hot its out of mummys kitchen.

Those days were so much fun! We started with cookies and simple things like that. As the boys got older, they had to take turns helping me make dinner. This was great as well since with 7 of us I had to double most recipes. It was a great way to teach fractions in a relaxed way with all the visual aids in place. They had already grasped the concept when fractions came up in math.

I love cooking with my kids. That is the best time to spend together and have so much fun. We cook every thing together now. They are old enough to even help me during dinner. We love creating desserts the best, reckon brownies because we can add all sorts of things to them, like nuts, chocolate chips, etc.

My daughter is almost ten, and she loves to help in the kitchen. She makes great scrambled eggs, and she loves to stir things while they're sauteeing, and to use the hand mixer when we bake. She also invents a lot of our smoothie recipes and most of them come out pretty darn good.

My kids love pancakes so I try to convince them to help me do their pancakes. They do the mixing part and I do the cooking part since they are just 5 & 4 years old.

My daughter is 9 years old. She loves to bake cupcakes! And she'll ask to make her own eggs in the morning. I hate the mess she makes, but i want for her to learn and to love cooking. See, I try, but cooking is not what i am best at! Hopefully she will be better than me.
