How's the pollution level in the city where you live?

Pollution index in Manila is way beyond the maximum level.
Do you foresee a future scenario where people will be wearing gas masks in the streets. I'm beginning to see it now. Traffic enforcers are using improvised versions of gas masks. Pollution is getting worse. There is a clean air act and the government have started on checking smoke belching vehicles but just like any other programs, it's just like a flash in the pan and an on and off sort of thing.

Yes, my friends who have travelled to India say the same thing. Pollution problems there are pretty much like here in Manila. Urban centers are getting worse and worse by the day. Time will come when we will see the scenarios depicted in films in our cities. People wearing gas masks, heavily tinted sun glasses because of ultra violet rays entering the earth's atmosphere.

The city I live, Hong Kong, has a serious air pollution problem. Most of the pollutants come from factories in Mainland China, local power plants and vehicles on the roads. In the air we find suphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide..etc. All of them are harmful to our respiratory system.

I happened to live in Quezon City and yes Manila's pollution are terrible. I don't think there is any other way for improving our surroundings coz most of the prople here are undisciplined and careless when it comes to taking care of their city.

Yes I agree. Part of the problem is that people don't want to get involved. They leave it to the government and the government programs to solve the pollution is just a flash in the pan. An on and off kind of thing. One day you see authorities checking smoke belching vehicles, the next day smoke belchers are all around. No political will and consistency on the part of the government.
