Does anyone else enjoy Blackwork?

I read about blackwork when I was doing research on Catherine of Aragon and became really interested in it. I learned that the color part of the name really just refers to the color of the thread. Anyhoo...I was just wondering if anyone else has an interest in this type of embroidery. I find that it goes really fast and make the most beautiful pieces. The only problems I am finding with it are trying to find patterns. There are almost none. So, if anyone out there has any, please share!!

Have you tried searching the net? Loads just came up and this one has free fill-in patterns http://aeg.atlantia.sca.org/projects/howto/blackwork Try eBay as that's where I got my first pattern from. I have done a few pieces, but my main interest is Stumpwork. I did find though that once you know the basic filling-in stitches, you can design your own, by outlining and then filling it in. I'm one of those people who get bored once they master something, which is why I love embroidery, cos there are so many facets, I never get bored.
